Kaya's Magic Shoes

The new publication by Az-buki is the first children’s book in Bulgarian created specifically for children with equinovarus, a congenital or acquired deformity of one or both feet. While similar books exist in English, none had previously been available in Bulgarian. Equinovarus is the most common congenital foot deformity, affecting about 1 in 1,000 newborns, yet there is no precise national data on the number of affected children in Bulgaria.
The book “Kaya’s Magical Shoes” is inspired by the personal story of Dilyana Kocheva, the mother of Kaya, who was born with equinovarus. The National Publishing House Az-buki supports the project as part of its commitment to raising awareness of socially significant issues.
